Individual Counseling
Individual Counseling

Individual counseling gives a person the opportunity to receive support and experience growth
in a non-judgmental environment. In this safe space you will gain insight and clarity into such
issues as anxiety, depression, grief, substance abuse, anger, relationship challenges, parenting
difficulties, school issues, career choices, etc. Each client will map out with their therapist their
own individual goals. Through education and with specific interventions each client will work in
manageable steps to achieve positive change.

Family Counseling
Family Counseling

We address specific issues affecting the health and functions of a family unit. Every family of
origin is different. In family therapy the lens is on how a particular family operates and how it
influences the client’s problems. Looking at how certain behaviors encouraged or enabled the
other members of the family is critical to developing a healthy family dynamic.

Couples
Couples

One of the best gifts we can give ourselves is a healthy relationship with our significant other.
Healthy communication is key to this type of relationship. Very often we communicate in an
unhealthy way (very often repeating the same dysfunctional behaviors) resulting in the same
negative outcomes. Once in therapy we address each person’s communication style and
through education, specific interventions and role playing one can learn to communicate in a
healthy way. Improving the relationship and forming new connections with your partner.

Grief
Grief

Grief is the one feeling we will all experience at some point in our lives. Whether it’s through
death, divorce, losing a job, ones home, any change that disrupts our lives will lead to a feeling
of loss. Understanding that we all grieve differently and that there is no right or wrong way to
grieve is critical to the healing process. For the client suffering a loss it is of paramount
importance to have a safe place to process the raw and difficult feelings that accompany grief.
Our clinicians have the experience and knowledge to sit with these painful feeling.

Anxiety
Anxiety

Stress is common part of most individual’s daily lives. This includes, children, adolescents,
adults and the elderly. Anxiety is the most common mental health issue in the United States,
affecting 18.1% of the population every year. Anxiety is highly treatable but often goes
untreated. Working with our professionals a client will come to learn that acceptance and
working in manageable steps with their anxiety is the beginning of a new way of living.
Individuals will learn new coping skills to deal with their anxiety and as a result can begin to live
fuller and richer lives.

Depression
Depression

Most people feel low and sad at times. Sadness is a normal reaction to life’s difficult
circumstances. Sometimes, we experience an innate sense of sadness for a longer duration
which is often difficult to understand and manage. These feelings of persistent sadness,
hopelessness, lack of interest in fun, fatigue, difficulty making decisions and sleep disturbances
can occur. Sometimes suicidal thoughts may accompany these feelings. Having someone with
whom you can share these feelings is the beginning of coping with them in a more manageable
way. Feeling understood and not feeling dismissed is a critical part of the therapeutic process in
dealing with depression.
